"At-risk" Students
In its 12th year, this program focuses on quantifiably reducing the risk factors associated with students dropping out of school and the achivement gap. The program supports broadbased, multi-year projects, such as:

Mind the Gap-Boulder and Centaurus high schools are utilizing tutors to offer the scaffolding necessary to help English language learners increase their achievement in major content areas. Tutors work with students one-on-one in classrooms and after-school study sessions. Additionally, this program provides support to BVSD middle schools so that these students enter high school better prepared.

Music Pathways- provides individual music instruction to students at Casey and Angevine middle schools because data consistently shows that students who are involved in high-level music instruction are more academically successful. In order to be involved in music at the high school level, students must begin instruction in middle school. Therefore, this program provides year-long music instruction to 30 high needs, 6th and 7th grade students.

Open World Learning - This partnership provides funding for an after-school and summer program for twenty five students in grades 3 - 5 at Creekside Elementary School to learn Micro Worlds programming and computer skills. Additional components of the OWL Program include mentorship, leadership development, peer teaching, student collaboration and teamwork experiences with curriculum goals and rewards.
