DIRECTED GIFTS
While most Impact on Education, formerly the Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools, donors allow us to apply their gifts to the area of greatest need, some have a particular passion they want us to help them fulfill. Whether funding the purchase of equipment for a particular school or creating an endowment to ensure long-term support of an important cause or creating a scholarship in memory of a loved one, we can develop the right vehicle to facilitate each donor’s specific wishes. Examples include:

  • Impact on Education facilitated the acquisition of Flatiron Elementary’s school-wide mobile and wireless computing environment through a family’s directed gift in 2003.

  • Wanting to ensure a long-term benefit to the Boulder community and its youth, the Boulder Area Board of Realtors undertook a ten-year campaign and raised $170,000 to create an endowment to support our STAR—STudents Achieving Resiliency, formerly Students at Risk—program, which is focused on preventing student dropout.

  • Clark Smyth, together with his family and friends, supports a scholarship fund he established to honor his deceased wife, Sally, a former counselor at Boulder and Centaurus High Schools.
