SCHOLARSHIPS
Impact on Education works with high school guidance counselors to solicit applications, select recipients and administer the following scholarships:
1. Dennie and Donna Wise Scholarship - was established by Dennie and Donna Wise's children to
commemorate their parents. It annually awards $1,000 two-year
scholarships to qualifying BVSD high school seniors for post-graduate study
at vocational, community or technical colleges.
2. Odd Fellows - The Independent Order of Odd Fellows helps people through social events, care and community-based charity work. The Boulder chapter annually budgets $10,000 to fund $1,000 renewable scholarships to qualifying BVSD high school seniors.
3. Gould-Foothill Scholarship - awards $1,500 a year to two Boulder High School students who intend to become elementary school teachers. Each recipient must also have attended Foothill Elementary for at least four years.
4. Sally Smyth Scholarship - was established by Clark Smyth and his children to
commemorate his wife upon her death, annually awards a qualifying Boulder High School senior with a 4-year scholarship of $5,000 per
year at a liberal arts college. For application information contact the Boulder High School counseling office.
5. The Mary Bessol Scholarship - awards a Boulder High School senior a one year, $3,500 - $1,750 per semester scholarship to help pursue post-secondary education. For application information contact the Boulder High School counseling office.
