Why I work at Impact on Education:

Many of my formative childhood memories began in school, and I believe education is one of the most powerful tools for shaping a child’s future. As a BVSD alum and former bilingual teacher in the district, I care deeply about our local community. I’m proud to work at Impact on Education because it allows me to champion educational equity and help ensure every student has access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, regardless of their background. Advancing education equity has been a consistent focus throughout my career, and I’m excited to continue that work here.

What makes me smile:

Anything pistachio flavored, a good meal with friends and family and my labrador retriever, Weeka! 

Favorite teacher:
Mr. G was my first-grade teacher at the Montessori school I attended. His love of learning helped me recognize and celebrate my individual strengths. He made me feel welcome every single day and played his guitar while singing songs with us about the content we were learning, something I’ll never forget.

More about me:
I was born in Boulder and raised in Louisville, and I’m proud to be a BVSD alum. I earned undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education, Ethnic Studies, and Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and went on to complete a master’s degree in Policy and Social Work at the University of Denver.My career has included working as a bilingual teacher in BVSD, administering federal programs, and nonprofits. I’ve taught internationally in Spain and Vietnam, both experiences that have deepened my commitment to educational equity and supporting diverse learners. Outside of work, I love to travel, ski , practice yoga, read, and watch reality television.
