Impact on Education secures $4.7 million endowment to support local students
Campaign creates long-term funding for evolving student needs across Boulder Valley
LOUISVILLE, Colo. (July 23, 2026) – Impact on Education, the nonprofit supporting the Boulder Valley School District, announced today the completion of its $4.7 million Our Students, Our Future endowment campaign. Exceeding its original $4 million goal, the nonprofit established a long-term funding stream to meet evolving student needs.
“Our work has never been more vital,” said Allison Billings, executive director of Impact on Education. “More than one in four Boulder Valley students qualify for free or reduced lunch, an indicator of poverty, and public school budgets are continually squeezed. This historic endowment allows us to respond rapidly to immediate economic and social crises, while safeguarding long-term investments in student mental health and early childhood education.”
Impact on Education launched this effort in 2023 to build long-term financial stability and the flexibility to meet emerging student needs. Thirty-five individuals and households contributed to the endowment.
The nonprofit invested planned estate gifts and cash gifts secured as part of this campaign into two funds: the Legacy Fund and the Innovation Fund. The Legacy Fund, held in perpetuity and invested, will provide reliable annual support for the organization’s mission. The Innovation Fund will be spent down within 15 years, reflecting the life-cycle of a student, on evolving student needs and cutting-edge programming. The campaign also included planned and cash gifts to establish scholarships for students facing financial hardship.
The organization will continue investing in academic, well-being and career-readiness resources for local students. These supports include early childhood education, school supplies, school-based Wellness Centers, career-readiness programs as well as other programming.
“Economic and social gaps follow students right into the classroom, and our community made it clear that they refuse to let those barriers limit a child’s future,” said Billings. “This milestone endowment is a powerful testament to community action. It gives us the permanent stability to confront those gaps head-on, deploying critical investments wherever needs arise. We are deeply grateful to the donors who stepped forward to secure an equitable future for our youth.”
